The Limestone Coast Regional Growth Strategy builds on the current directions, strategies and leadership within the region. It will enable the Limestone Coast region to prioritise key strategic projects that can both drive and achieve future growth. It is recognised that without a clear set of strategic projects that link to existing and future regional plans, growth may not be achieved. To assist us in this process it is imperative that the region embraces the process adopted by the LCLGA’s Economic Development Group. The Committee has adopted a process whereby it has developed a regional Work Plan that identifies projects, lead agencies and how the projects are to be resourced.Inclusion of the Growth Plan initiatives into this framework will ensure the projects are resourced and delivered.
The Limestone Coast Regional Growth Strategy is an overarching document that will be supported by:
The Limestone Coast Regional Growth Action Plan (Completed)
The Limestone Coast Infrastructure Audit (to be developed)
The Limestone Coast Regional Investment Prospectus (to be developed)
It is vitally important that the above ancillary documents and process of prioritising regional projects is done in a matter that is fully supported by the Limestone Coast region. The regions long history of collaboration has provided stakeholders with a platform to ensure the success of the Limestone Coast Regional Growth Strategy.
The Limestone Coast Regional Growth Action Plan sets out the initiatives and strategic directions that are important to the region and identifies local organisations to implement these initiatives.Due to the extensive consultation and analytical work completed by the Regional Australia Institute and regional leaders, the Action Plan has provided the region with the core foundations for focusing our future efforts. The next stage of the process is to engage with those key stakeholders in the Limestone Coast Economic Development Group to prioritise and oversee delivery of these Strategic Actions. More importantly the Limestone Coast Economic Development Group will identify how the individual projects will be both resourced and delivered so that identified growth can be achieved.
The Limestone Coast Infrastructure Audit underpins some of the inhibitors identified in the Limestone Coast Regional Growth Strategy.Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast is the lead agency in developing the Infrastructure Audit. The Audit will consolidate existing information detailing the regions infrastructure incorporating both hard and soft, identify infrastructure gaps/deficiencies, key improvements and prioritise infrastructure needs.
Limestone Coast Regional Investment Prospectus will showcase the existing ‘champions and heroes’ of the region and investment opportunities across the Limestone Coast.Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast will lead the development of this project.
